U-S Army Corps of Engineer General John Peabody says the corps will work with the city to provide the best possible advice but in the end the decision rests with city leaders.

Valley City is in the first phase of a flood buyout and also part of a U-S Army Corps of Engineer feasibility study focusing on permanent flood protection for the city.
