(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes Babe Ruth baseball team saw their streak of shutting out the opposition come to an end in the Southeast District Six Babe Ruth tournament in Steele on Monday.

However, the runs offensively continued to add up in their contest versus the #2 seed Steele. Lead by a Michael Kelly solo home run, the #1 seed in the tournament has advanced to the District Championship round after defeating Steele 11-3.

Win the win, Oakes (17-0) now has two shots at the Championship to be played Tuesday, and will play #4 Valley City (10-7).  Game one of the Championship round is at 3 p.m. Tuesday. If Oakes fails to close out the title, a winner-take-all game will be played shortly after the 3 p.m. game.
