VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The region has an excessive amount of moisture that is not draining off or soaking into the soil in southeastern North Dakota this spring.

NDSU Extension Educator Randy Grueneich says a number of farmers can’t get into some of their fields to start their spring planting.

He says farmers in many southeastern North Dakota counties will more than likely have several prevent plant acres in 2020.

But Grueneich says North Dakota counties west and northwest of Stutsman County need more moisture this spring.
