JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC) Board discussed the interest in a greenhouse facility in Stutsman County.

The interest is specifically in the Spiritwood Energy Park and Klose Property. Corry Shevlin, Business Development Director, says both properties would be a good home for a project like that.

Shevlin added that Interstate Engineering has put together the contract to have the property ready for construction from a design perspective. He says they just wanted approval to complete the preliminary design reports and the surveys that coincide with the other tasks within the contract.

Shevlin reports that they have a greenhouse looking at the site and that having this work done would be beneficial to their process. He says if they choose to not build, another organization could use the work that’s done.

JSDC Executive Director Connie Ova added that amid the pandemic, it was important to remain proactive on the project.

The cost would be $13,000 for the preliminary design report and $8,000 for the surveys. This would be funded on an 80/20 City/County split.
