JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC) Board unanimously approved an agreement with the National Guard to help recoup some of the infrastructure cost to build a new facility in Jamestown.
The agreement would see the JSDC recover the cost of infrastructure for the 19.12 acres of land, which is approximately $583,034.20. Corry Shevlin, Business Development Director, says the agreement sets up a payment structure for the Army National Guard and their proposed building in the Airport Business Park.
He added that there is potential to have the balance satisfied before the 8 years.
Shevlin added they’re looking forward to moving forward with this agreement and recoup some of the cost for the project. He added that the project has been approved at the state and federal level and they should see a payment before or on June 15th, 2021.
If the project doesn’t move forward, the agreement would become void. The board approved of the agreement.
When a National Guard armory is built, the community has to provide the land. The National Guard will construct the building.
