Veronica Lyter, 99, of Valley City, ND, died Thursday, April 30, 2020 at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 5th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside committal service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 6th at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Sanborn, ND. Veronica Ione Didier was born to Katherine (Stroh) and Harry Didier, Sr. on the family homestead north of Eckelson, ND. She was the 4th of 10 children. Veronica graduated from Eckelson High School in 1938.
On June 20, 1940, she married Alfred Lyter. They were blessed with 6 sons and a daughter. Alfred died March 28, 1986.
In 2001, at the age of 80, she married Chet Nadolny. They made their home in Mesa, AZ. Chet died in 2007. Veronica moved back to ND in 2011.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sanborn and was a member of Circle 3 and Christian Mothers. She loved her God, her family, and definitely her cards.
Veronica was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; son, Richard; daughter-in-law, Janet; son-in-law, Kenneth Lorenz; grandson, Thomas Lyter; sister, Agatha “Sis” Kirscher; brothers, Gerald “Bus”, Frank, Ralph, Robert, Harry Jr., John, and Richard Didier.
She is survived by her sons, Dan (Donna) of West Fargo, ND, James (Diana) of Evergreen, CO, Lloyd (Dori) of Redwood City, CA, Ed (Joy) of Chandler, AZ, and Tim (Sharlene) of Sanborn; daughter, Marie (fiancé, Terrance Berg) of Valley City; brother, Bernie Didier of Valley City; 19 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 20 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Sacred Heart Cemetery in Sanborn.
