JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that seven grants totalling more than $13 million had been given to state airports for improvements and rehabilitation projects.
The funding is awarded through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under DOT and will be used to finance various development projects.
Jamestown Regional Airport received $1,531,989 to acquire aircraft rescue and firefighting safety equipment, reconstruct an apron, rehabilitate a runway, and rehabilitate three taxiways.
Devils Lake Regional Airport received $95,000 to reconstruct apron, taxilane, and taxiway pavement.
These DOT grants follow a previous DOT funding announcement Wednesday awarding over $62 million to 12 local airports in North Dakota as appropriated by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
