VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Emily Murray has been awarded the Valley City Education Association (VCEA) Scholarship. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants need to be a graduate of Valley City High School and enrolled in a teacher education program.
Emily Murray, daughter of Buff and Karen Murray, will be a senior this fall at Minot State University (MSU) majoring in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading. She was a softball team captain at Valley City High School and a member of National Honor Society. At MSU, she is a veteran member of the activity planning club and involved in intramural sports.
Emily loved her preschool program summer job which revealed to her that education is her passion. She loves learning and wants to make a difference by inspiring her students to also fall in love with learning. Emily’s professor, Warren Gamas, explains that Emily is a exemplary learner and that her initiative and positive attitude will transfer to her teaching as she inspires her students.
