MINOT, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Archery team completed a successful state tournament in Minot a few weeks ago.
Ranging from the Elementary to High School Divisions, Oakes archers combined to take home 7 thousand dollars worth of scholarships.
The high school team took home four top 10 finishes and Oakes’ Lily Wiek finished first in the high school class and the 2nd overall spot across all of the girls divisions.
Middle school recorded four top 10 finishes. 8th grader Kaitlyn Folkman placed 2nd in her division and Braysen Sagert finished with the best score for a 6th grader.
At the elementary level, the Oakes boys grabbed the top two spots in the division. Tucker Deering placed first while Isaiah Wertz finished just one point behind Deering in a 2nd place finish. Braylyn McKown recorded the best finish on the girls side with a 2nd place finish.
