JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Rob Lech says they continue to tweak their online courses as they enter their third week.

Dr. Lech says they receive a lot of questions regarding the online programming. He says they went through a three step process through the Department of Public Instruction with their plans for online learning moving forward.

Dr. Lech says with that approval of their virtual learning plan, they continue to receive full funding to support their staff and teachers. He added that those who want to see their plan can view it on the school’s website.

He pointed out that the plan needed to ensure equitable learning for all students and provide high quality, effective in standards-based instruction. This led the school to address connectivity for students in the district, which was possible after area businesses and organizations stepped up to help.

Lech says they laid out expectations, schedules, outline remaining standards and how to translate that into an online platform. He says this also involved training everyone in the virtual learning plan.

He added that they will continue to monitor and tweak the online format as they continue along.

Dr. Lech says it’s been inspiring to watch the staff work.

The schools also continue to provide free breakfast and lunch for pick-up or delivery. You can click here for more information.
