VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The following is a scam to trick you into getting your credit card, debit card or bank account information.

The following scam email was sent to the Barnes County Sheriff’s Office by a Barnes County resident who wanted to let the public know about this scam.

In the email below, the scam artists claims to be an employee from the Internal Revenue Service. Remember the Internal Revenue Service does not ask for your credit card information in emails like the one highlighted below.

We have recalculate your last fiscal activity and we have determinated that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of 425.58 USD.
We tried to send it to you automatically but were unable to do so as we don’t have your Credit/Debit Card details on file
