BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Game & Fish is encouraging residents to make preparations for the fishing season in the state.

Game & Fish is reminding anglers that a new fishing license is needed as of April 1st with some new regulations. Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says this is a good time to review the rules.

Licenses can be purchased online or at more than 140 vendor locations throughout the state. The 2020-1` small game, fishing, and furbearer licenses are effective April 1st through March 31st, 2021.

In other Game & Fish news, Leier says those living out of state that want to hunt mule deer with a bow in the state need to have applications in by April 15th.

Leier also added that there are only a few more days to apply for the moose, elk, and big horn sheep licenses in North Dakota.
