JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission heard the latest regarding the lawsuit between ND Soy and Spiritwood Energy Park Association (SEPA).

Jamestown Stutsman Development Corporation Executive Director Connie Ova told the commission that legal fees paid so far totalled $200,135.65, which were paid with cropland lease dollars collected on SEPA property.

Ova informed the commission that on a 90/10 split between the city and county, Stutsman County would owe $10,831.44 to help cover the lawsuit cost.

The other $97,482.96 would be covered by the city. The commission unanimously approved their portion.

Later, Business DEvelopment Director Corry Shevlin gave the latest on a new program called the JSDC Career Builders Program.

Shevlin says they see this as a tool companies can use to recruit in high need and emerging occupations in the state.

Shevlin says they’ll be working with the University of Jamestown to help qualify potential students in the state for the different occupations.

The program would be covered on an 80/20 city/county split with the city covering $80,000 and the county cost share being $20,000.

The program was unanimously approved.
