Raymond “Ray” John Killoran, age 68, of Buffalo, ND, passed away March 16, 2020 at Essentia Health, Fargo with his loving family by his side. A private family service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 21st at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Buffalo, ND. A public celebration of Ray’s Life will be held at a later date in the spring. Interment will be in the Buffalo City Cemetery, Buffalo, ND in the spring.
Ray was born April 11, 1951 in Grand Forks, ND and adopted by George and Theresa (Matt) Killoran. He was raised in Buffalo, ND. He graduated from Buffalo High School in 1970. After high school he attended college in Wahpeton, ND. On December 11, 1982, he married the love of his life, Jo Ellen Stallman and together, with their three children, Jennaca Rae, Jacob Duane and Jeana Marie, they made their home in Buffalo, ND.
Ray started his career of farming and truck driving at a young age. Working at many places, including Killoran Farms, the Buffalo Farm Supply and farming on his own. He spent most of his career behind the wheel of a semi traveling the U.S. for Killoran Trucking. He retired from Killoran Trucking in 2017 but never quit working and shortly after retiring, reached his lifelong goal and returned to farming. He was excited to be able to help his nephew, Justin Killoran, on the farm with anything he asked.
Ray filled his life with many things he loved, including camping and fishing, snowmobiling, sitting around a campfire in the backyard, hunting with his son, riding on his 4-Wheeler, visiting with people around Buffalo, traveling with his wife and spending time with his friends and family, especially his seven grandchildren. He cared about people and never forgot a person he met. He was a long-time member of The Valley City Eagles Aerie 2192, The Buffalo Wildlife Club, The Alice Wildlife club and the Buffalo Fire Department.
Ray is survived by his wife , Jo Ellen of 37 years; children, Jennaca Killoran of Buffalo, ND, Jacob (Amber) Killoran of Baldwin, ND and Jeana (John) Marshall of Prosper, ND; grandchildren, Kennedy and Benjamin Salberg, Dyalnn, Bria and Shaylee Killoran and Ellie & Garrett Marshall; siblings, Catherine (Wayne) Miller of Westhope, ND, Joseph (Lora) Killoran of Buffalo, ND, Dennis (Cristie) Killoran of Tower City, ND, Mary (Brad) Kliniske of Buffalo, ND, Robert Killoran of Buffalo, ND, Patrick Killoran of West Fargo, ND and Ronald (Patti) Killoran of Detroit Lakes, MN; mother-in-law, Betty Lou Stallman of Buffalo, ND; many nieces and nephews; and other dear family and friends.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents; George and Theresa Killoran and his Father-In-Law, Duane Stallman.
