JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Barb Williams of Jamestown was named the 2019 Agriculture Woman of the Year during the Farmers Appreciation Banquet.
The banquet, put on by the Jamestown AgEnergy Committee, showed support of area farmers with a banquet and live music. The highlight of the evening was recognizing a local woman’s contributions to farm/ranch life, community, and national Ag organizations.
You can read Barb’s nomination below:
“Although Barb is an extremely busy person, she always has time for others. She has one of the most positive and uplifting attitudes of anyone I know. You can find her in the semi hauling grain one day, and taking a friend or family member to the doctor the next. She is very involved in their farming operation in every aspect of it. Although she is busy and has a large yard to keep up, she still takes time for all her grandchildren, children, and husband. Barb is a true friend and is a blessing to many. She remembers birthdays and special occasions throughout the year, but also sands our cards just to brighten up ones day. Barb is all about helping and taking care of others. She lends a hand to all, even though then days are filled. Bart knows life is meant for lining, and makes time for travel, Gardening, visiting, creating, and spending time with family and friends. I truly believe Barb is so deserving of this award, and she is so humble, kind, and generous. She is a perfect example of what an “AG” woman showed be.”
Williams has been involved in various volunteer organizations including Blue Jay Volleyball boosters, Jamestown Soccer Federation, Stutsman County Fair 4-H, and more.
Williams and her husband Chad farm southwest of Jamestown and have four children; Krysten, Aarcyca, Alex, and Kaden. They also have 5 grandchildren.
