VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The threat for significant spring flooding remains for the Sheyenne River Basin this spring.
National Weather Service Hydrologist Greg Gust said moderate to major flooding is still in the forecast, but over the last seven weeks conditions have improved due to a lack of snowfall and a good snow melt. Because of that, he said the flood forecast was lowered for Valley City.
Gust said condition in the upper basin near Cooperstown and to the west improved but there still is a lot of moisture content in the snow and on the ground.
