JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High girls basketball saw their season come to an end in the West Region play-in game last night against 10th-seeded Dickinson. The Jays fell by a final tally of 68-62 to end their season.

Dickinson lead by nine late in the contest and Jamestown went on a run spearheaded by the West’s leading scorer Grace Hegerle. Hegerle stole a pass in the back-court with the Jays down two and just barely missed a chance at a three-point play. She split the free throws to cut the lead down to 62-61 and that was as close as Jamestown got.

Dickinson scored six of the next seven, all coming from the foul line. They made their last nine free throws to put the game away. Dickinson advances to the West Region Tournament to play No. 2 Century on Thursday.

Kam Selvig, in her final game as a Blue Jay, lead the way with 26. Hegerle finished with 16.
