BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Any ice houses on frozen water in North Dakota will need to be removed by March 15th.

Ice shelters can still be used, but can no longer be left unattended by that date. Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says this still leaves a lot of time, but it’s a date anglers will need to have down.

Anglers are still encouraged to monitor ice conditions, especially in the transition from winter to spring. Leier added that the ice house removal deadline doesn’t mean the season is closed.

In other Game & Fish news, Leier reports that snow goose migration is reaching into Nebraska, but the snowline in South Dakota is holding birds back. He also adds that there are still some turkey tags available.
