JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission heard more about a request from Fort Seward for funding Tuesday.
Fort Seward Reconstruction had requested $6,000 to expand their programs and visitor experiences, add weekly rotating exhibits, and offer historic camping for their guests.
County Commissioner Steve Cichos asked if this was the share of funding that was requested by Fort Seward, which was being split 40, 40, 20.
Auditor Nicole Meland reported that 40% was going to the Stutsman County Museum, 40% to Fort Seward and 20% to the Frontier Village.
“We plan to use the funding to add lights to our parking lot, purchase a new 30×60 American flag for our Veterans wall as well as purchase supplies for our rotating exhibit,” they state in their request.
The funding was approved unanimously.
In other county news, Em Burkett was offered the job of Zone Director for the Buffalo Bridges Humane Service Zone which she accepted.
The commission later agreed to replace their 1st floor copier and ordered countertops for the courthouse.
