
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Brady Dvorak scored 22 points in the first half when Grand Forks Red River was building a 19 point lead, 50-31, on the way to a 94-55 win over Valley City in Eastern Dakota Conference boys basketball Tuesday in Grand Forks.
Dvorak and Cole Benson combined to 35 points in the first half. Benson did not score in the second half and finished with four assists. Dvorak finished with 33 points and three assists. William Obioah filled the stat sheet with 14 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Riders who locked down the number three seed in the EDC tournament in two weeks. Kobe Springer was also in double figures with 12.
Peyton Zaun led the Hi-Liners with 11 points, all coming in the second half. Jared Eggermont had 10 points and five rebounds. Drew Zaun had eight points and Mitchell Taylor, Derek Diegel and Carson McGough had seven points each.
Valley City falls to 1-17 in the EDC and 2-17 overall. The Riders are now 13-5 in the conference and 13-6 overall.
