LAMOURE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Needing to finish in the top 4 of a weight class to reach the State Tournament, the Oakes Tornadoes created nine state tournament births at the Region 1 Tournament in LaMoure on Saturday.

As a team, Oakes placed 3rd behind Lisbon and South Border for the second consecutive weekend and had one individual Region champion. Senior Logan Sell was the Tornadoes lone champion at 182, and Jacob Hankel had the next best finish placing 2nd at 285.
