ELLENDALE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Sophomore Center Scott Wagner dropped in 22 points to help the Ellendale Cardinals defeat the Carrington Cardinals in Class B Boys hoops action Friday night 56-55. Ellendale improves to 5-1 in District 5 play and 9-5 overall, Carrington drops to 0-4 in District 5 play and 1-14 overall.

Leading the way for Carrington was Freshman Hudson Schmitz with 26 points, including six 3-pointers, Senior Seth Nelson added 18. Hunter Thorpe had 13 for Ellendale.

Next up for Carrington will be Tuesday night at home against District 5 team Oakes, KDAK and KDDR will have the game starting about 7pm pregame.
