JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Ave Maria Village is nearing the completion of their Phase II project and has set the budget for their third and final phase moving forward.
Ave Maria Village Development Director Annie Hancock says work on their kitchen renovations has been going on for quite sometime, but they could see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Hancock reports that they have set their budget at $426,641 in Phase III.
“With existing donations taken into account, we are looking at needing another $270,000 to fully fund our Kitchen Renovation Project,” Hancock stated. “I am thrilled to finally have a goal to work towards and I thank our donors immensely for their gifts that have helped us get this far along. We are grateful for the support and prayers we get from our friends in the community.”
The kitchen has needed renovations for more than 56 years and once completed, they’ll move on to the private room campaign.
“We are so excited to move a step further in our kitchen renovation project,” stated Tonie Lagodinski, Assistant Administrator. “We know this will positively impact our culinary services for both our staff and our residents.”
Jodi Bunde, Director of Dietary and a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at Ave MAria Village, says the renovations are exciting because their food service workers deserve an updated, efficient, safe, and aesthetically pleasing kitchen to work in.
“They are heroes who give of their precious time and talent to make and serve approximately 150,000 meals a year of the highest quality for some of Jamestown’s most vulnerable people,” Bunde stated. “Our Dietary Team works hard to ensure the food tastes great, is nutritious, appetizing, and is safe, all to enhance our residents’ quality of life and well-being.”
The kitchen renovation will provide equipment and a bigger work space for the staff and residents.
There will be two fundraisers upcoming to help Ave Maria Village meet their Phase II goal. The first will be a Soups On! Fundraiser Wednesday, February 12th from 11 AM to 2 PM in the Barthel Room. On February 13th, they’ll hold a Valentin’s Day Sweet Treat Sale. Orders must be placed by February 10th.
