VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The threat of moderate to major flooding along the James River Valley, Sheyenne River Basin and Red River Valley is high this spring.
Several federal and state agencies have been making the rounds getting the word out to flood threatened communities to be prepared.
FEMA External Affairs spokesman Brian Hvinden talked about the first step.
FEMA Insurance specialist Matt Buddie said purchase flood insurance 30 days before the event.
A few insurance agents will get some training in Bismarck on Thursday, February 6th to help customers interested in flooding insurance. The full interview is available below.
