ELLENDALE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Cardinals of Carrington beat the Cardinals of Ellendale Thursday night 57-25 in Class B District 5 girls basketball action. Carrington improves to 2-0 in D5 and 8-2 overall, Ellendale drops to 0-3 in D5 and 4-6 overall. Leading all scorers was Junior Hannah Hagel with 18, including six points at the charity stripe. Also in double figures for Carrington was Senior Addison Hoornaert with 13 and Senior Kiera Eli added 12. Junior Morgan Fischer had six to lead Ellendale. Next up for Carrington will be Monday, January 13th in Carrington for another District 5 contest against the Bison of Barnes County North, KDAK and newsdakota.com will have coverage starting about 7pm.

The Cardinals wrestling team traveled to Casselton on Thursday night for the Casselton triangular. Carrington beat two Region 2 teams, defeating Harvey/Wells County 45-21 and Central Cass 42-36. Carrington improves to 5-4 in duals this year. Next up for Carrington will be the Bismarck Rotary at the Bismarck Events Center on Friday and Saturday, January 10th and 11th.
