Lloyd Branden Diede, 79, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Christmas Eve, December 24, 2019 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Lloyd was born July 24, 1940, in Jamestown, the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Schmeier) Diede. He grew up in Streeter, ND and graduated from Streeter High School. Lloyd attended Valley City State University before he was drafted into the US Army on May 3, 1961. He served in France and Germany before being honorably discharged on May 1, 1964. Lloyd returned to Streeter, then moved to Jamestown where he worked for Western Auto, later CarQuest until he retired. He was a sports enthusiast, enjoying bowling, pool, softball, hunting and fishing. Lloyd especially liked cheering for the Dodgers, Vikings, and Duke. He was a deacon at the United Presbyterian Church.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Joyce Diede; son, Jack (Laura) Diede; daughter, Theresa; eight grandchildren, Emily (Carter Birch) Diede, Jillian (Braden) Mellon, Seth Diede, Jocelyn Hanson, Casey Hanson, Bjorn Hanson, Potter Hanson, and Fletcher Hanson; brother, Wesly (Darlene “Toots”) Diede; sister, Artina Gohner; and sister-in-law, Violet Diede.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 30, 2019 at Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown with Pastor Bob Boyar officiating.

Visitation: 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday. December 30, 2019 at Williams Funeral Home.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
