JAMESTOWN N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Some counties in North Dakota are seeing an uptick in influenza levels this winter.
According to the North Dakota Department of Health, there have been a total of 192 influenza cases in the state. A majority of those cases are Type B influenza.
Central Valley Health Unit Administrator Robin Iszler says they began administering the flu shot around September 1st in Stutsman and Logan Counties.
Iszler says right now, they’re seeing the cases in younger ages.
She points out that if you haven’t received your flu shot yet, there’s still time to do so. She says some have waited due to a delay in the vaccine reaching the area earlier this year.
Iszler also addressed the myth that getting the flu vaccine “gives” a person the flu virus.
If you’d like to schedule a vaccine or to have CVH come to your business for the vaccine, you can call 701-252-8130 or visit 122 2nd Street NW in Jamestown.
