VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City High School Speech and Student Congress Team Senior, Elizabeth Gazeley, has reached the highest measure of distinction through the National Speech and Debate Association, Premier Distinction.
This accomplishment places her in the top tier of students involved in the National Speech and Debate Association. Elizabeth is the 16th student to reach that honor since Valley City High School became a chapter of the National Speech and Debate Association in 2001.
Elizabeth Gazeley is a 4 year speech competitor and two year Student Congress competitor. This past Student Congress she represented VCHS in the Senate which is the highest chamber. In speech she has done the events of storytelling, Speech to Entertain, Speech to Persuade, Original Oratory, Humorous Duo, Serious Duo, EPR, and Program of Oral Interpretation. She is a three time state placer including a 2nd Place State Runner-up in Speech to Entertain in 2018.
Besides her involvement in Speech and Student Congress she is involved in Student Council, Show Choir, Theater, Ballet, Band, and Choir. She has plans to pursue a degree in Music Education at Valley City State University in the Fall of 2020.
