JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Park Board met Tuesday to discuss their monthly business.
Karl Burgh, Park Superintendent, informed the board that water levels were approaching the cabins at Pelican Point.
Burgh says the board could consider riding out the winter and waiting for the spring to see what it would look like. Or they could be proactive and remove the cabins before snow falls.
The board moved to approve moving the cabins.
Later, Park Board Member Joan Morris asked the board if she could receive the go ahead to begin working on the campground expansion project at Pelican’s Point.
Morris says what slows down progress is continually coming before the board to ask for permission on each item. She requested they approve the committee to work ahead this winter with Interstate Engineering and not exceed $50,000 in their work.
Morris says following layout, they’ll come back before the board to begin the bidding process. The expansion will be funded on a 50/50 grant with a match between the county and the Bureau of Reclamation.
The board unanimously approved.
