JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A member of the Frontier Village Association (FVA) came before the city Monday evening to give her thanks to supporters and says they have a lot of work to do.

On Friday, November 1st, the FVA Board voted 3 to 2, with one member voting no and another abstaining, to turn over all assets, property, and debts to the city of Jamestown.

Melody Mittleider became the FVA Board President after Jay Mickelson resigned last week. She asked to come before the city to thank those who supported her when she stood up to voice her concerns with the board.

Mittleider says the steps taken in the next few months will be for whomever takes over the lease for the Frontier Village.

Mayor Dwaine Heinrich was in attendance of the meeting in which the FVA Board voted to turn every thing over to the city. He thanked Mittlieder for voicing her concerns and leading the vote.

Because the discussion was held during the public hearing portion of the city meeting, no decisions could be made.

Mayor Heinrich later explained that there would need to be some work done in order to legally and properly receive the Frontier Village items and 501(c)(3) status from the board.

Mayor Heinrich says some background work will need to be done before the motion is fully realized. No action was taken Monday evening.
