LISBON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)  The Lisbon Broncos rolled to another playoff win at home on Saturday afternoon over the Thompson Tommies 48 to 18.  Many thought the game would be close throughout.  But once again the Broncos offensive line and their rushing attack was too much to over come for the Tommies.

The Broncos won the opening coin toss and took the football to start the game.  They promptly marched down the field on their opening drive and got an 11 yard TD run from #12 Hunter Schultz.  The 2 pt conversion was good and Lisbon led 8 to 0 with 9:15 remaining in the first quarter. They would not give up the lead for the rest of the game.

Here is the run down of the rest of the scoring:

LB – 30 yard TD run from #2 Jordan Sours, 1:48 remaining in the 1st quarter.  2 pt. conversion fails, 14 to 0.

TT – 55 yard TD pass from #15 Jacob Dick to #20 Sam Roller, 10:16 remaining in 2nd quarter.  2 pt. conversion fails, 14 to 6.

LB – 22 yard TD run from #2 Jordan Sours, 10:25 remaining in the 4th quarter. 2 pt. conversion fails, 48 to 18.

By the numbers:  This season the Broncos have broken several school records.  3 more that I was made aware of after today’s big win.  The 3 that were broken today will belong to Jr. RB Jordan Sours.  Although many contributed to his success.  With Sours 5 rushing TD’s today he now holds the single season rushing TD title with 28.  With his 268 rushing yards today he now hold the single season rushing record with 1781 yards on on 187 carries.  He also now holds the single season points scored record with 212, with a whopping 30 TD’s and 16 2 pt. conversions.  He are a few more numbers for you.  The Broncos put up 48 points today without a single pass being completed.  On the perfect 10 – 0 season so far, the Broncos have only completed 20 passes, all year!  Lets not forget that the Broncos also feature another 1,000 yard rusher.  1157 yards to be exact.  Hunter Schultz is also a feared runner along with his 15 TD’s on the ground.

Next up:  The Broncos will face their toughest opponent they have faced this year with Langdon Area/Munich Cardinals.  And since the Cardinals are the #2 seed in the class a state tournament the Broncos #3 will have to play in Langdon this coming Saturday.  The game time has not been set yet.

Where to listen:  You will be able to the hear the Broncos vs. Cardinal game on Thunder Country 106.1 FM or under the listen tab on NewsDakota.com.
