
SEWARD, Neb. (JimmieAthletics.com) – The eighth-ranked University of Jamestown trailed two sets to one Thursday evening against No. 17 Concordia (Neb.) University, but rallied for wins in sets four and five to defeat the Bulldogs in Great Plains Athletic Conference action.
Jamestown (23-4, 11-2 GPAC) is at No. 24 Midland (Neb.) University on Friday.
Corina Ruud (JR/Breezy Point, Minn.) led the Jimmies with 13 kills, followed by Britta Knudson (SR/Bismarck, N.D.) and Taylor Sabinash (SO/Kensal, N.D.) with nine each. Isabel Wedell (SR/Ellendale, N.D.) finished with eight.
Sabinash (.389), Knudson (.364), and Ruud (.360) combined for 31 of UJ’s 48 kills and made just seven attack errors in 65 attempts.
Miranda Lowman (SR/Mandan, N.D.) had 25 assists while Jackie Meiklejohn (SO/Dickey, N.D.) added 20. Sydney Ellingson (JR/Langdon, N.D.) registered 24 digs, with Anna Holen (SO/LaMoure, N.D.) adding 22 and Hannah Schiele (SO/Jamestown, N.D.) 20.
Knudson and Sabinash each had eight block assists and Ruud had two solo blocks as part of her seven total blocks.
Friday’s match at Midland is the Jimmies’ final regular-season road contest. UJ concludes the GPAC schedule with home matches against Mount Marty College on November 4 and College of Saint Mary on November 6.
