OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – No more notable injures for the Oakes Tornadoes (30-3) as they got their setter Sadie Hansen back from an ankle injury. She, and Oakes, didn’t miss a beat as they swept Medina-Pingree/Buchanan (14-11-1) 3-0 (25-12, 25-9, 25-13).

Up 1-0, Jaida Seyer stepped to the service line and went on a 10-0 run to put Oakes up 11-0 out of the gate. Oakes took care of business and won by double-digits as they did in every set tonight.

Game two began with MPB taking two of the first three, but Oakes rattled off 8 in a row and later scored five in a row to bust game two wide open. It was the biggest margin of victory for Oakes tonight.

Same story, different set as Oakes scored six of the first seven points in the third. MPB recorded their longest run of the night scoring five in a row and six of seven to tie the game at nine but that was all the momentum they could conjure up.

Nicole Schmitz recorded seventeen kills, Shayla Novak had six and Emma Muggli had five kills to lead Oakes.

Oakes’ last regular season match is this Thursday at home against Napoleon-Gackle/Streeter before districts start next weekend in Carrington.
