ABERDEEN, S.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It’s been nearly a week and searches for a missing plane between Aberdeen, South Dakota and Oakes, North Dakota have turned up nothing.
Brown County Emergency Manager Scott Meints reports that Civil Air Patrol flight missions were flown Sunday and Monday in South Dakota and North Dakota, but nothing has been found.
“Ground crews from Brown County, South Dakota, Dickey County, North Dakota, Ransom County, North Dakota, and Civil Air Patrol have been working the area,” Meints says in the latest report.
“Weather grounded any air missions for Tuesday, but [they’re] expected to resume Wednesday.”
Officials are still seeking continued support from the public on anything you may find or have heard. This includes hunters during the popular pheasant season.
“With the opener this coming weekend, we are asking hunters to please be on the lookout for anything of interest,” Meints stated.
The single engine, blue and white Cessna departed from the Aberdeen Regional Airport on October 9th to Oakes, North Dakota, but failed to show up at the airport.
