JAMESTOWN, N.D. (KFGO) – A Jefferson Lines bus with 42 passengers on board slid off icy I-94, pushed by high winds this morning and got stuck in the snow near Medina.

Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser tells KFGO News, there were no injuries but the passengers were stuck on the bus for several hours.

Kaiser says a school bus company from Jamestown was sent to the scene to pick up the stranded passengers and take them to a Jamestown hotel.

Sheriff Kaiser says road conditions have been deteriorating throughout the morning creating zero visibility. Conditions were so bad, plows were taken off the highways earlier Friday morning.

North Dakota DOT and the State Patrol have closed I-94 west from Fargo to Bismarck and I-94 and eastbound I-94 from Valley City to Bismarck as are both lanes of I-29 from Grand Forks to the Canadian line.
