CRARY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A school bus carrying the Dunseith School Volleyball team Thursday evening struck a moose roughly 3 miles east of Crary.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that the bus was traveling west on Highway 2 around 9:35 PM when it struck a moose standing in the road. The bus suffered significant front-end damage, but 78 year-old driver Curtiss Halvorson was able to drive it safely to a stop.
25 passengers were on the bus and two were checked for possible injuries. They were found to be uninjured. the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office and Lake Region Ambulance assisted at the scene.
