JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A wonderful evening of donations and kind words from business leaders and community supporters in September brought focus to the Anne Carlsen Center and their future plans.
During the Anne Carlsen Center Banquet on September 26th, it was announced that with several donations, they had reached their $10 million goal in 2019 and would be able to break ground in 2020.
Associate Campaign Director Mary Lou Urquhart says of the total $41 million cost, the foundation was tasked with raising $12 million and the rest would be funded by the Anne Carlsen Center.
Urquhart says it’s been a long process to this point.
Urquhart pointed out that the growth from 2009 to now shows just how much a new campus and facility is needed. The center served 250 children and today, they help over 4,000 statewide.
She says the Jamestown location employs 346 people alone and additionally 700 nationwide.
Urquhart says they now turn their focus to the final $2 million to meet the overall goal of $12 million. She says they have from now until the end of 2020 to reach that mark.
She pointed out it’ll also be a milestone for the Anne Carlsen Center as they celebrate the 80th anniversary in 2021, when the new campus will be opened and running.
