JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A unique twist on the classic 5K run/walk will be held on October 12th.
The Great Pumpkin race was an idea Erin Paulson had and she decided to go for it. It will be the first of its kind in Jamestown.
Paulson says the 5K Run/Walk will challenge participants to carry a pumpkin with them while they compete, but they’re also welcome to just run or walk the 5K.
She pointed out that funds raised through the 5K will go on to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the North Dakota Cystic Fibrosis Association.
Paulson says participants can pre-register for the event by visiting their Facebook page or by texting 701-320-7206.
Cost to participate is $25 or $30 for the pumpkin challenge. There is also a family fun walk fee of $20, but a finisher medal is not included. Registration will start at 7:30 AM in front of Ave Maria Village with the race beginning at 8:30 AM.
Paulson shared that funds raised will stay local and within the state for Cystic Fibrosis.
