VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Barnes County officials extended the deadline for residents to get their ditches mowed on or before October 7th due to the wet weather conditions.

Highway Roads Superintendent Kerry Johnson said the hay bale removal deadline has been extended to October 31st due to wet soil conditions in the county.

The Barnes County board of commissioners approved of the deadline adjustments during their regular meeting on October 1st.

In 2019, the deadline was moved up to October 1st due to poor weather conditions that made mowing and hay bale removal impossible or difficult back in October of 2018.

Johnson said failure to comply with the new 2019 deadlines will result in the cost of mowing or hay bale removal being charged to the Barnes County Landowner.
