JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Hi-Liner girls Cross Country team placed four runners in the top 15 and two more in the top 25 to take the RM Stoudt Invitational at Parkhurst Recreation Area in Jamestown.
Greta Goven led the Hi-Liners with a time of 20:12 which was good enough for fifth overall out of 45 runners. Teammate Reagan Berg was four seconds behind in sixth place. Avery Murray was eighth, Sydnee Ingstad was 12th, Stefanie Hoffarth was 16 and Sophia Boe was 25th.
The Hi-Liners took top honors with 47 points followed by Kindred with 65. Devils Lake was third and LaMoure/Litchville-Marion was fourth.
For the boys, three runners were in the top 25. Adam Punton paced the Hi-Liners with a time of 18:08 which was seventh overall out of 61 runners. Hale Berntson was 14th and James Burk was 25th.
As a team, Valley City was second behind Devils Lake who had 31 points and Valley City 106. Host Jamestown was third.
