JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Arts Center will once again be a host to the Manhattan Short Film Festival October 3rd & 4th.

“Manhattan Short is the only event of its kind,” the Arts Center states. “The Final Nine [films] are screened simultaneously across the world during a one-week period, with the Best Film and Best Actor awards determined by ballots cast by the audiences in each participating venue. By virtue of their selection by Manhattan Short, each short film is automatically Oscar-qualified.”

Jamestown Arts Center Executive Director Mindi Schmitz says it’s a big deal that they can host the films at their location.

The ten films hail from five countries with films from Iran, France, Finland, USA, and three films from the United Kingdom.

“These Final ten short films represent the best short films among 1250 submissions from 70 countries received by MANHATTAN SHORT for 2019, testimony to the enduring vibrancy and creativity of short films.”

You can view the trailer for the film festival here. Admission cost is $15 for the public and $10 for Arts Center members.
