VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A five-day trial for a Mesa, Arizona man accused of shooting a Valley City man in November of 2018 scheduled for September 30th has been canceled.

22 year-old Cornelious Edward Johnson is facing two felony counts of attempted murder and a felony count of robbery stemming from the shooting in Valley City.

A change of plea hearing for Johnson is set for Wednesday, September 5th at 1pm in the Barnes County Courthouse.

Johnson fled North Dakota after the shooting in Valley City. Two months later, U.S. Marshals arrested him in Maricopa County Arizona on January 30 of 2019.

Meanwhile, the 20 year-old male victim, who Johnson is accused of shooting continues to recover from a gunshot wound to his upper body stemming from the November 21st 2018 shooting in Valley City.
