bikewalk-2019

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Several community entities are coming together to host the first and possibly only Bike/Walk 2019 pop-up bike path event in Jamestown September 7th.

The event comes after a grant was given to the Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department through the AARP Community Challenge Grant to create a pop-up demonstration bike path and gauge community support for a permanent multi-use path.

Tami Dillman with Central Valley Health says what they’ll be asking people to do is come to the Saturday event any time from 9 AM to 12 PM and walk the pop-up path. Then, residents will take a short survey to give feedback on the possible permanent path that would be placed in that area.

Survey information collected from before and after the event will be used for different grant opportunities to continue connectivity of Jamestown’s walking and bike paths.

TRAC Facilities Manager Amy Walters is helping to oversee the event. She says the path will start at the Two Rivers Activity Center and continue from there.

Walters encourages anyone to bring their bikes, strollers, dogs or just themselves and walk, jog, and bike the pop-up path. She says safety measures will be taken to ensure the safety of those participating.

The event is free and everyone is welcome to participate. You can take the pre-survey by clicking here. The post-survey will be available at the event.
