BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Those who applied and missed out in the deer gun lottery have a second chance in North Dakota.

Game & Fish Outreach Biologist Doug Leier says the available licenses are primarily in units in the western and central part of North Dakota.

Leier says this is a chance to hunt a deer this season, but to take the opportunity to hunt in a different unit this year.

If you’re looking forward to other seasons, Leier says we’re just a week away from early Canada Goose season which opens August 15th.

Leier also took some time to remind residents to check out more information at gf.nd.gov on the upcoming Game Warden course and to keep an eye out for Blue-green Algae warnings from the North Dakota Department of Health.

You can listen to Doug Leier every Thursday at 7:35 AM on Big Dog Country 95.5 FM with JD in the Morning.
