JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The James River Senior Center (JRSC) provides more than just a senior home for area seniors.

Everything from Home Delivered Meals to the public transit system, they have a variety of duties. To maintain these services, the JRSC relies on grants and donations.

A September fundraiser coming up will be the first of its kind for the center according to Office Manager Rhonda Sahr.

Sahr says they plan to use the funding they raise for their home delivered meals program, which is highly utilized in Jamestown.

Sahr says an individual must meet the requirements in order to participate including being above the age of 60, be disabled or have limited mobility or visit a meal site.

Sahr says they invite anyone to stop by the center and talk to them about all the different services they can provide.

Executive Director Maureen Wegenke says another big thing they’ve unveiled is their new cafe, open to the public.

To help support the James River Senior Center, you can join their Taco in a Bag fundraiser during the Jamestown Senior Resource Fair at the Buffalo Mall on August 8th or their Soup & Salad Fundraiser on September 6th.
