MAYVILLE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An 18 year-old Mayville teen was injured after he was struck while riding his bicycle near Mayville Monday afternoon.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that Brayden Schafer, was traveling southbound on 3rd Ave. SW when he entered the intersection. A Lincoln Town car driven by James Klath, 87, of of Portland, ND, entered the intersection traveling westbound when he struck Schafer.

Schafer applied his brakes, but was unable to avoid a collision. He was transported to Sanford Mayville Medical Center by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol They were assisted by the Traill County Sheriff’s Department, Mayville Fire Department, and West Traill Ambulance.
