WATFORD CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Another four games took place at the 2019 State Class B Babe Ruth tournament at the Rough Rider Center, three teams were eliminated, three remain out of eight, here are the results:
Sheyenne/New Rockford 7 Surrey 6 (loser out)
Casselton 8 Langdon 2 (loser out)
Thompson 4 Lamoure 3, 8 innings (semifinal)
The Lamoure A’s led 3-1 after after five innings, but Thompson scored two to tie in the sixth and then the go ahead run in the top of the eighth. Thompson has not lost in the tournament and will move into the championship game.
Casselton 16 Sheyenne/ New Rockford 4 (loser out)
The Casselton Black Stockings scored four runs in the top of the first inning and then five in the top of the third and never looked back as they roll past the Black Sox of Sheyenne/New Rockford. Casselton had 15 hits, Joseph Shoemaker had four, three singles and a double and four RBI. Nick Berglund had a single and an RBI for the Black Sox. SNR ends their season at 19-4 overall and in fourth place. The last time SNR was in the State Babe Ruth tournament was 2002.
Third year Head Coach Seth Soderholm joined the Q101 post game report with Greg, and he said that Casselton played a very good game:

130pm – Thompson vs. Lamoure/Casselton winner (championship) (if Thompson loses, then winner take all championship game on Tuesday at 11am.)
