VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The first annual River Fest is coming to Valley City and Ft. Ransom State Park. The event will focus on boating and learning more about the Sheyenne River.

Co-event coordinator Mary Lee Nielsen said a World Record Canoeing & Kayaking launch will start at the U.S Fish Hatchery northwest of Valley City and also at Fort Ransom State Park on Saturday, August 3rd at 9am.

She said booths with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, ND Game & Fish Department and other local entities will be set up in Chautauqua Park Saturday, August 3rd from 10am to 2pm. Mary Lee gave a few more details about the First Annual River Fest with Steve Urness on our Voice of the Valley show.
