VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Public School District and the Valley City Education Association have reached an agreement over the next two years.
Under the agreement, the salary base was increased to $36,300 for the upcoming school year and will increase to $36,600 for the 2020-2021 school year.
The number of personal days that one may accumulate at any given time increased from seven to eight under the agreement.
School board member Ryan Mathias was on the negotiating committee. He said it wasn’t exactly what we wanted and it wasn’t exactly what members of the VCEA wanted but, a compromise was reached and an agreement is now in place over the next two school years.
In other news, Darin Anderson and Jamie Sylling were installed as board members and started their first three year term following the reorganization of the school board during their annual meeting on Wednesday, July 24th.
Ryan Mathias was unanimously selected to be the new school board president. Natalie Wintch was unanimously selected to the position of vice-president of the Valley City School Board.
Former school board members Joyce Braunagel and Val Moritz ended their terms just before the reorganization of the school board midway through the annual meeting on Wednesday, July 24th.
