VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The city of Valley City will hold a ribbon cutting celebration thanking the State Water Commission, lawmakers and several other entities responsible for approving the permanent flood protection projects in Valley City over the last decade.
Mayor Dave Carlsrud said without the help of federal and state agencies Valley City could have suffered serious damage during the flood fights of 2009, 2010 and 2011.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Main Street near the foot bridge of City Park at 3pm on Thursday, July 18th the public is welcome to attend. Main Street will close for about 90 minute due to the ceremony.
